Bon Asian Hibachi Bistro: A Trendy Destination for Asian Fusion in Rhode Island

Food was good but you don't get a lot. The service was amazing. The cook put on an awesome show for everyone and included everyone at the table. As for the atmosphere, it kind of sucked. There was a birthday party which is great but they were annoyingly loud. They did seem like they were having fun though. It's a nice friendly place to go and kids will love the show too. All around a nice place.

This is a nice hibachi style restaurant , they are located seconds off the highway and pretty much smack dab in the middle of RI . The inside is really nice , it’s very stylish and fancy in appearance. The bar is huge , so there is plenty of room for those who like to sit at the bar , and the hibachi area matches the rest of the restaurant . The service was great , server was attentive , and the hibachi chef was entertaining . They are all about “Saki” here . The menu has a lot to offer , from good apps , to sushi and entrees . The hibachi food itself was good but not great . I feel like as hibachi goes , portions are typically large , and here , it seemed to be stretched thin between our party. But maybe that’s how they do it here . I think I’d stick with the sushi , next time around . I have higher then normal standards , but when your paying over $100 for a bill for 2 people , I expect the meal to match the price. It fell a little short in that regard. But the over all experience was not to bad .

I really like this place for hibachi and the scorpion bowl. The twin lobster tail hibachi was really yummy. I do think you prob get more food sitting at the grill. We sit at the bar and I notice a difference. Maybe it's just me but next time I go I'll sit at the hibachi grill.

Tried out Bon Asia Bistro as we were looking for places with availability and it wasn’t bad. Although it’s Saturday night we were able to find a table with no issues. The restaurant itself is actually pretty beautiful. It’s appropriately lit and has a large koi pond in the middle of the restaurant. We were sat next to it and enjoyed watching the fish. Our waitress came over and she was friendly and attentive as well. We ordered the tempura shrimp and for sushi rolls I had the spicy scallop, Rhode Island, and yellowtail with jalapeño. The tempura starter was okay. I thought there would be more vegetable options and the shrimp was pretty heavily coated but not bad. The yellowtail and jalapeño was good (didn’t find it spicy though), Rhode Island was standard, and the scallop was by far my favorite. While it was all good I prefer my sushi to be a little cooler as well- these rolls felt room temperature. Overall it’s a pretty good sushi place for Johnston but you can definitely find better in the Providence area (such as Nami).

I love Bon! My mom and I tried take out on a night we lost our dog of 15 years and we just did not want to cook. We have been ordering take out almost every week now(we rarely do take out). And they have the most amazing lunch specials!!! So sweet and kind service. My favorite part is that they are consistent and the food is ALWAYS fresh!!! Thank you Bon!

Good food, personally I wish they had more choices for cooked sushi no disrespect I might be alone on this . Service was great
